Mojiya

Terms

Last updated: 25 October 2026.

Mojiya is published by Mojiya Studio. These terms cover the Android app, the iPhone app, and the website at mojiya.app. Using any of them means you accept them. The privacy policy says what we do with information.

The service

The app is a Japanese course, a dictionary, a reader for books you supply, and a player for videos and subtitles you supply. It is on Android, iOS, and the web. You buy the courses past the free lessons in the Android app, in the iOS app, or on mojiya.app.

Your account

You can study the free lessons with no account, on your phone and in the browser. Buying the courses, and backing up and syncing your study, use a Mojiya account. You sign in with Google or with Apple. One account can hold both: the second method links onto the account you already have. We store an account id, the identifier the provider gives us, your email if the provider sends it, and which course licence the account holds. While you are signed in, the account also keeps a copy of your study, as the privacy policy sets out. On this website the sign-in is kept in the browser tab. It is not a cookie. The study log in the browser stays in that browser unless you sign in.

Purchases

The courses past the free lessons are $3.99 a month, $29.99 a year, or $69.99 lifetime. You buy them in the Android app, in the iOS app, or on mojiya.app. Google Play processes an Android purchase, and the App Store processes an iPhone purchase. On mojiya.app, Paddle sells the course as seller of record and processes the payment. We do not receive your card number. Refunds are covered on the refunds page. Purchase records are handled for us by RevenueCat. The dictionary, the reader, and the video tools stay free. To cancel a subscription, use the store you bought it from.

What you bring

Books, videos, subtitles, and dictionaries you import stay on your device unless you turn on a backup and choose a folder yourself. We do not receive those files.

The dictionary on this site

A search sends the word you type to our server so it can be answered, and the word is not kept. The page address never contains it. An entry address is a number.

Sources

Course and dictionary text comes from JMdict, KANJIDIC2, KanjiVG, Tatoeba, and Kanjium, under their own licences. Those licences are named in the app. They are not a licence to copy the app itself.

Live TV

Playing a Live TV station uses YouTube’s player. That binds you to the YouTube Terms of Service. The app records nothing about what you watch.

Deleting an account

You can delete an account in the app, or as described at mojiya.app/delete-account. Deletion removes the account, its sign-in link, its licence record, and the study it backed up from our server. Study data on your device is not affected. Google Play keeps its own record of an Android purchase, and the App Store keeps its own record of an iPhone purchase.

Changes

If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. Continuing to use Mojiya after that date means you accept the new terms.
